Yellow Brick House is pleased to announce we have been awarded a three-year grant by the Ontario Trillium Foundation to fund the Stepping Up Program.
Starting with Seneca College, Yellow Brick House will be partnering with other post-secondary institutions over the remainder of the grant timeframe to deliver a program that engages post-secondary students as peer facilitators to challenge the attitudes, myths and stigma around dating violence and sexual assault.
Stepping Up is an evidence-based program originally developed and implemented at Mount Royal University in Calgary. It engages students of all backgrounds and genders in peer-facilitated events and projects. The topics addressed include healthy relationships, gender & media, sexual relationships, and bystander intervention. Student participants will work towards creating awareness campaigns and solutions that combat dating and sexual violence and abuse on their campuses. Funding for this program comes from Ontario Trillium Foundation.
